I am back today with another project featuring one of the brand new released dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs. ECD just released three brand new background dies. All three backgrounds have repeating backgrounds and today I am playing with the Leaf Pattern Background.

Step One: To create the card frame background add a sheet of Clear Double Sided Adhesive to a 4.25×5.5 inch trimmed piece of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Two: Die cut the trimmed cardstock with the Leaf Pattern Background. (I used a metal adaptor cutting plate to help get a precision cut.). Pop out all the die cuts.

Step Three: Peel back the adhesive film and coat the adhesive with Leaf Green Silk Microfine Glitter.

Step Four: Using a liquid adhesive, adhere the glitter die cut to an A2 card frame. I used Kids Choice Glue.

Step Five: Now that the background is created there are many different possibilities for decorations for the card. I pulled out the older Tropical Florals dies set, which I thought would pair beautifully with the new background die. Die cut the Tropical Florals out of Watercolor Paper.

Step Six: Watercolor your die cuts using the ECD Watercolor Palette.

Step Seven: Using Kids Choice Glue adhere the die cuts together.

Step Eight: Adhere the Tropical Floral die cuts to the background.

Step Nine: To create the sentiment for the card, die cut a fishtail banner using one of the small Diagonal Stitched Fishtails dies. I used a piece of scrap Watercolor Paper.

Step Ten: Stamp the sentiment onto the fishtail. I used the Beach Sentiments stamp set. Adhere the fishtail to the card frame.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I created this tropical themed card using the new Leaf Pattern Background. Make sure you pop back in to see other projects I am creating with Elizabeth Craft Designs new release. Until then, Happy Crafting.
