Cupcake Inspirations Challenge is back with a brand new line up of fun challenges. Yes, this long running challenge group took a little break, but they are back with all the fun. This week we are hosting a color challenge featuring the colors Green, White and Brown.
I created a two for one card this week, pulling out some oldies but goodies craft supplies. Because I created a green alcohol ink background and then lifted some of it with alcohol ink lifter, I was able to stamp those floral leaves onto a second piece of cardstock.
I stamped out, colored and die cut some crazy little birds from the old but classic Tim Holtz stamp set.
I made certain to add the eyes and wings with two dimensional tape to give him a little bit more of a wonky look. I also stamped a fun sentiment from an old Dylusions stamp set that reads “Pretending I’m a pleasant person is exhausting!” I know the sentiment is a little hard to read in the picture by in real life it looks great!
I repeated the same process with the second card, but when I stamped the sentiment, I used the wrong ink. The green ink I first stamped in smudged everywhere, so smudged it completely out and restamped the sentiment in the correct ink.
In the end, I really liked how the mistake looked as a final product.
I can’t wait to see what you create with this color challenge. Until then, Happy Crafting!
