So I needed a couple of thank you notes to thank people for extra special holiday gifts. I wanted something that still had the feeling of the holidays without being to obvious. So I thought I would pull out a few stamps sets from the Charlene line from Elizabeth Craft Designs.
Step One: Stamp the poinsettia image from the Christmas Garden stamp set onto a piece of a book page using some fade out ink. If you don’t know what fade out ink is, it is ink that fades with time so you can easily do no line coloring.
Step Two: Using color pencils color the image. I used my Faber-Castell pencils. Fussy cut out the image.
Step Three: Trim a piece of Cafe Au Lait Soft Finish Cardstock to 12×6 inches, and score and fold to create a 6×6 inch card.
Step Four: Using some Distress Oxide Brushed Corduroy ink, hand stamp images from the Journaling Elements stamp set.
I ended up using three different stamp sets to create the background of my card.
Step Five: Using some 6mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive, add a frayed strip of book page to the card frame.
Step Six: Using some Brick Red Distress Oxide stamp the sentiment from the Journaling Effects stamp set, and add an accent stamp using some Crushed Olive Distress Oxide.
Step Seven: Add the colored flower to the card frame using some more 6mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive. To unite the background a little more, stamp a floral image from the Christmas Garden stamp set using Distress Oxide in Walnut Stain.
I just love how this card came out and really can’t wait to send this one out. I like the holiday feel it has without screaming Christmas Card!
Let me know in the comments below if you create holiday thank you cards, or just go with something more generic. Until then, Happy Crafting.
