Fly Away

EK Gorman, WHite Rose Crafts, Mixed Media Fly aWith the new year on the horizon, I am looking at my crafting goals for the new year.  One of the things I would like to focus on more this up coming year is to merge more of my crafting with mixed media.  So today I thought I would start the adventure with a little mixed media craft piece.

IMG_E8313I started by pulling out a 6×6 inch Mini Page Album.  I inked up the edges of the chipboard with some Distress Oxide in Evergreen Bough.

I also pulled out a piece of craft paper from the 13 Arts Aqua Floral Paper pack and distressed the edges using a paper shredder.

IMG_E8314I glued down the craft paper onto the chipboard and splattered it with a little more Evergreen Bough.

IMG_E8315Still using Evergreen Bough, I added some stenciling to the other corner suing the Kaisercraft Grunge Stencil.

IMG_E8316I painted and adhered both the chipboard Circle Doodle Frame  and Rings for So Many Things circle to the project.

I adhered a second piece of scrap paper from the Aqua Floral paper pack to the project as well and coated it in extra adhesive to protect it.

IMG_E8319For the focal image, I stamped out the Gorjuss Santoro Fly Away With Me image onto some white cardstock and colored it in with my Nuvo Markers.  I used a combination of the Cookies and Cream set and Hazy Mauves for the skin tones.

IMG_E8320I colored in her hair with the Natural Browns collection.

IMG_E8321For her dress and leggings I used both the Stormy Greys and Emerald Seas set.

EK Gorman, WHite Rose Crafts, Mixed Media Fly cTo finish the project, I stamped a sentiment from the All you Have to Do stamp with permanent ink.

EK Gorman, WHite Rose Crafts, Mixed Media Fly dThis project was actually really simple to create because I picked a piece of paper that could do a lot of the hard work for me.  The paper already had a lot of visual interest so there really wasn’t a lot I had to do to make the background fun.
