Fall 2017

Hey everyone.  Fall is offically in the air around here so I thought it was not only a good day to launch my Fall/harvest/thankful series today, but the perfect day to craft solely for the fun of it.  I managed to play around with a few different challenges, and am sharing the cards below.

EK Gorman Fall 2017 a

For the first card in my Fall series, I thought a little watercoloring was in order.  So I pulled out this fun stamp set from Inspired by Stamping, and stamped out the images using my tombow markers.

I then die cut the watercolor paper with a Craftin Desert Divas die and layered it on top of some card stock die cut with other CDD dies cuts.

220 Third DimensionEK Gorman AI 220I really pushed my normal crafting boundaries today with this card I did for Art Impressions bi weekly challenge group!  Their challenge this week was adding a ‘third dimension’.  I picked up this cute Christmas popup set from Michaels recently (cause seriously Santa is way too cute not to have him in my stash).

I won’t lie…this took me a little while to figure out…but now that I’ve done it, I don’t think I would have any trouble putting another together.  I colored Santa up with my copic markers and assembled the popup according to instructions.  I laid some holiday paper under the pop up and added the sentiment for fun.  On the cover, I added a great piece of holiday paper that I thought would disguise the pop up fun inside.

EK Gorman LiM 353Rectangle #353 and 354 Colour FireworksThe team over at Less Is More CAS challenge have an interesting challenge up.  It is a color challenge and the color theme is ‘fireworks’.  The don’t mean a literal firework however, but an explosion of color.  Since this group is CAS and likes lots of white on their cards, I found this challenge a little difficult.

I ended up dry embossing a piece of card stock with a Darice embossing folder and then rubbing some distress oxides in Candied Apples, Spiced Marmalade, and Fossilized Amber and Vintage Photo.  Then using another piece of card stock, I die cut out squares using a My Favorite Things Die set.  The sentiment was stamped in the same companion colors of distress inks from a Inspired by Stamping stamp set.  When all was layered up in the end, I really liked how this card turned out.  I don’t know if it is CAS, but I like it anyway.

pp369Finally, I have a card inspired by the gals over at The Paper Players.  This week they are having a challenge with the theme of ‘holiday pines’.

EK Gorman PP 369I stamped out an old Christmas stamp set from Inspired By Stamping, using versa mark ink.  Then I heat embossed on some Ranger sticky embossing powder and added Nuvo guilding flakes in bronze.  The image got die cut with a Honey Bee designs die and a second piece of card stock got some guilding flakes around the border.  Everything was assembled and a few red crystals were added to the card to give it some sparkle.

That’s is all for today.  I will be back again soon with some more cards to share.  Until then, happy crafting!

  2. So much eye candy to see in this post. A wonderful group of cards. Your fireworks card is beautiful and you did a fabulous job colouring the raised areas of the embossed image. As you’ve already mentioned, it is busy for our CAS challenge as we love our white uncluttered untouched space. Thank you for sharing it with us at Less is More.
