It’s Sunday, so it means it is time for a new challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge. This week we are hosting a color challenge, and hold onto your Valentine’s Day pants, because the colors are carmine, white, and black.
This week we are sponsored by Stamplorations, who is generously offering a $15.oo gift certificate to their site for one random participant. So get crafting, cause this is so worth trying for.
I personally am boycotting Valentine’s Day this year. My husband is going to be away on business, so that’s it, I’m being bitter. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still give my hubby a card (maybe, but that’s is only depending on whether he is being sweet or not in the days leading up) and I of course will give my beautiful children notes, knowing that they have some kind of sticky little gift made from popsicles sticks for me (I’m not being snarky, I really do love these). However, seeing the inspiration photo makes me want to blow a giant raspberry at it. I adore my husband and try to show him how much I love him daily, but it just feels rotten that he won’t be here on the official day of hearts and flowers (husband, if you are reading this do NOT send flowers…save the money…we will eventually go out and celebrate).
So here is my interpretation of the color challenge for this week’s colors. I pulled out a very snarky and rude valentine’s day image from Bugaboo. I love this character and I can’t wait to grow up and be her. Seriously, I am going to be this kind of woman in my golden years.
I printed out the digi and colored it in with my copics, keeping the coloring simple. I trimmed the card up and added some red glitter paper under it. I know this isn’t the prettiest card in the history of Valentine’s Day, but personally, it makes me smile.
If you are wanting to see some cards that are filled with far less spite than mine, please go run over to the other Design Sweeties. They really have great cards this week, and almost make me feel bad for being bitter ( but lets be honest, half you keep coming around because of my snarky attitude).
That’s it for now…I honestly can’t wait to see how you use these beautiful colors in this week in the challenge. Go ahead and go nuts with the hearts and flowers…it might just help shave off a bit of the holiday grump.
