Cupcake Inspirations #390

cic390-lawn-fawnIt is Sunday, which means it is time for a new challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations.  This week we are host another color challenge, this time featuring the colors slate, ballet, and gold.

This week we are being sponsored by Lawn Fawn who is generouslylawnfawn offing a Stamp Set and 6×6 pad to one random participant.

I am going to go ahead and make an admission…I saw that slate color and thought lavender, I can do lavender, and only now as I am typing the word slate, do I realize it was probably suppose to be a grey color.  Don’t hold it against me…

I pulled out a the Lawn Fawn set, Fairy Friends, that I got for Christmas and stamped out a scene onto some card stock masking where I needed to.  I colored the scene in using three sets of copics.  The gold shades are in Y21, Y23, and Y28.  The ballet shades are in RV00, RV10, and RV21.  The slate shades (or lavender) are in BV000, BV01, and BV04.  I added some distress ink in tattered rose in the back ground scene and some shaded lilac in the sky.  Finally, I knew I needed some sparkle, so I added some spectrum noir sparkle pens.  I don’t show up here in the picture (in fact it doesn’t look good in the picture) but there is great sparkle and shine all over the card.

I trimmed up the card stock and added some light lavender glitter paper to one side and some pale pink glitter paper on the other.  I added a sentiment from the same Lawn Fawn stamp pack and called the card a day.

  1. I ❤ glitter! You created an adorable fairy scene, clear stamps make that so easy. I may have to grab those stamps to share with my nieces, they made fairy gardens last fall and are obsessed with anything tiny! Thanks for the shout out!

  2. Hahaha! I was the same as you! I just took a quick look at the colors and didn’t even read the names, and only realized that “purple” was called slate…LOL I think your card looks perfect with purple anyway! Those fairies are so sweet, and the scenery you’ve created is just so adorable!
