So I am totally playing around again with my vast collection of watercolor markers again, and giving them so long overdue love. I wanted to create a simple card today using a muted range of colors and some floral stamping and see if I could create an elegant card.
Step One: Stamp floral images from the A Field of Flowers stamp set in three different shades of brown watercolor markers onto watercolor paper. I used Tombow Markers in 992 Sand, 969 Chocolate, and 977 Sadie Brown.
Step Two: Add leaf images from the same stamp set in watercolor marker. I used Tombow Marker 228 Gray Green.
Step Three: Using a damp watercolor paint brush, pull the marker into the stamped image to color it. ‘Color’ each stamped image one at a time to keep from mixing colors. Let Dry. Trim the watercolor paper to just under 4.25×5.5 inches.
Step Four: Using 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive, add the watercolor paper to a piece of coordinating colored cardstock trimmed to 4.25×5.5 inches.
Step Five: Adhere the cardstock to an A2 card frame using more 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive.
Step Six: Add a sentiment to the card using a coordinating ink color. I stamped my sentiment from the Once Upon a Time stamp set in Tree Branch Archival Ink
Step Seven: Finally, add some dollops of Craft Drops in Transparent Crystal.
What do you think? Did I pull off the look? Let me know in the comments below. Until then, happy crafting.
