Hey Friends! Anyone else as excited for summer as I am? I thought I would try to quench my excitment over a season that is quite a ways away by creating this beach themed card using Elizabeth Craft Designs’ Sand Crab die set.
Step One: Die cut all the pieces using both the Sand Crab die set and the Diving Assesories die set out of some 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock.
Step Two: Using alcohol markers, color the die cuts. I used my copics to color the pieces.
Step Three: Using Kids Choice Glue, adhere the crab together.
Step Four: Inside the diving mask, add a clear adhesive so it looks like the plastic of a real mask. I used Glossy Accents.
Step Five: Using some scrapes of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock, die cut the paper using the Ocean Edges die set.
Step Six: Color the die cuts with alcohol markers. I used slashing lines for the ocean and layered dots for the sand.
Step Seven: To add some ‘foam’ to the waves, I added circular scribbles around the tops of the waves with white gel pen.
Step Eight: Trim a piece of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock to 4.25×5.5 inches to create a background. Blend two shades of blue ink onto the background. I used Distress Oxide in Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean.
Step Nine: Using 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive, adhere the waves and sand to the background. Leaves gaps at the top so you can tuck fish into the ocean. Using a combination of both 6mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive and Kids Choice Glue adhere the assembled crab, fish and star fish onto the card.
Step Ten: Stamp a sentiment onto the upper corner of the card from the Splish Splash Sentiments stamp set in blue ink. I used Distress Oxide in Salty Ocean.
I hope this bit of the beach finds you well. I wish all of us could take a little break and sit on the beach for a while soaking up the sun. Until then, we can at least craft a little bit of the beach. If you could be anywhere right now, where would you be?
Let me know in the comments below. Until then, happy crafting.
