I tried to create a little bit of spring magic with my project this month and pulled out the ScrapBerry Magic Story stamp set to create my card.

I started by laying a base of Distress Oxides onto some white cardstock.  I used a combination of Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick for the pale pink, Scattered Straw and Mustard Seed for the pale yellow, Shabby Shutters and Mowed Lawn for the pale green, and Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean for the pale blue.  I used the lighter color to fill most of the space and the darker colors for the corners.  I then sprayed and splattered the ink with some Shimmer Spritz in Frost.

On a different piece of cardstock I stamped out the focal image of the ring of birds from theMagic Story stamp set.  I colored in the image using a combination of Nuvo Creative Pens.  I used the Turtle Dove grey marker from the Stormy Grey collection and the Ultramarine and Blueprint makers from the Indigo Ink collection.

Once the image was fully colored, I fussy cut it out, using an craft knife to carefully cut out the middle of the image.

I adhered the focal image onto the inked background.

The card seemed a little dull and plain, so I pulled out the Inkadinkado Meadow Flowers stamp set and shadowed stamp the corners in the darker distress oxide color.

Finally I added the sentiment from the Magic Story stamp set using some VersaFine Black Onyx.

I stamped the corners of the cardstock with the black ink using the Kaisercraft Fading Dots background stamp.
