When I made shift from a Mixed Media Artist and Art Journal to card maker, the Tim Holtz range of supplies were my first card making products. His distress inks and grungy stamps were got me addicted to the world of card making.
Since then, I have pushed out to all the different products and toys within the card making world, but I often find myself still coming back to the Tim Holtz line.
To grunge up the edges a little bit more, I added some Vintage Photo Distress Oxides (which blends so well with the distress inks).
I then splattered the card with some Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Spray.
I stamped the sentiment from the stamp pack using VersaFine Black Onyx.
I finished the project off with a few sprays of clean water, to activate the distress ink.
I just love the summer feel of this card and how the inks blended together.
I blended Distress Inks from the Mini Kit 2 for this card.
For this card, I used Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide to create not a grunge, but a shadow effect around the edges of this card.
I stamped the sentiment from the Butterfly Melange stamp set in VersaFine ink as well for this card.
I splattered this card with a little Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Spray.
I also sprayed this card with a little clean water to activate the Distress inks.
Where I think the first card really looked like summer, I feel this one is all ready for fall!
Thanks for peeking in on my projects today. Let me know in the comments below what Tim Holtz products bring you back to your roots. Until then, happy crafting.
