Sentimentally Deranged February Oddball Challenge

It is the first of the month, so that means it is time for a new challenge over at Oddball’s Monthly Challenge group.  This challenge is always an anything goes challenge, however, it also has an optional theme…this month that theme is ‘Sentimentally Deranged’.  If you love snarky sentiments as much as I do, you will love this month’s theme.ekgorman2coddballart2cfebchallengeaToday, I am creating an interactive shaker card using the new digital stamp IMG467 Fortune Tellers Magic Glass Ball.  I printed out the image, and then using my pen knife, cut the middle of the crystal ball out.  I colored the image in with my copics and then trimmed the corners with a rounding corner punch.

ekgorman2coddballart2cfebchallengebTo fill the this month’s theme, I added a Tim Holtz snarky sentiment sticker inside the ball that I thought was funny in this situation.

ekgorman2coddballart2cfebchallengecUsing three dimensional tape, I created the platform for the shaker card.  I filled the inside with the sequin mix Sparkle Blends Icicle from my friend Doodles Paper Playground.  I thought the mix gave the crystal ball a nice smoky mysterious look.

And because today is Friday, and I can’t seem to help myself, I also played with this week’s Creepy Cute Chronicles Freebie.  If you aren’t getting Oddball’s weekly newsletter, you are really missing out.

ekgorman2coddballccc38aI printed out the image onto some quality cardstock and then pulled out my colored pencils.  I am really trying to work on my hair coloring skills this year, so this image is perfect for that goal.

ekgorman2coddballccc38bI trimmed the paper down a bit and matted it with both some red printed paper, and some black cardstock.

ekgorman2coddballccc38cWith the addition of another TH snarky sentiment sticker, I think this card would also work for this month’s challenge theme!!!

I can’t wait to see what you come up with using this month’s fun theme.  Until then, happy crafting.
