Cafe Dreamers with WRC

little acresThis week over at White Rose Crafts, the design team is focusing on Little Acres Stamps, one of the newest brands to grace the WRC shelves.

ek gorman, white rose crafts 1:7 aToday I thought I would create a little miss you card featuring the Cafe Dreamer stamp set while watercoloring with my distress oxides.

Below is a pictorial tutorial on how I colored up both the background and focal image.

img_4233Step One:  I started by trimming some watercolor paper to 4.25×5.5 inches and pulling my distress oxides.  I used Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Hickory Smoke, Picked Raspberry, Pumice Stone, Wilted Violet and (not pictured) Walnut Stain.

Step Two:  Rub Picked Raspberry distress ink onto a glass or wipeable surface and spray with water.  Smooch the watercolor paper over the wet ink.  Air dry or speed things up with a heat gun.  Repeat with Wilted Violet and then Chipped Sapphire.

Step Three:  Blend Hickory Smoke over the entire piece of watercolor paper.  Repeat with Black Soot, letting some of the hickory smoke peek through.

img_4243Step Eight:  Watercolor the ground with some Walnut Stain.

img_4244Step Nine:  Fussy cut out the watercolor image.

ek gorman, white rose crafts 1:7 cI hope you enjoyed seeing how I created this distress oxide watercolored Little Acre card.
