There is a new challenge up over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. This week we are sporting a color challenge, looking for holiday designs that show off the colors Pink, Blue, and Green. I found this challenge a little difficult for just a moment, and then realized that pine leaves are in fact green. So jumping off from there I created this project.
I started by blending four colors of distress oxides into some card stock. I used Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass. Then using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Poinsettia stamp set, repeatedly stamped the pine branch over the background using three shades of green. I used Bundled Sage, Lucky Charm and Evergreen Bough.
I pulled out some white acrylic painted, and then splattered it over the whole card trying to create a snow flurry effect. Then I added the sentiment from ECD’s Winter Sentiments and added some snowflakes from the same sentiment stamp set in Salty Ocean.
I can’t wait to see how you play along with this fun and unusual color challenge. Till then, happy crafting.
Oh, I love this look. The branches against the splash of pink are gorgeous. Very atomospheric x
