There is a new theme up over at Cupcake Inspiration Challenge, and since it is my birthday, it is a theme after my own heart…Spectacular Backgrounds!  What does that mean, well, simply make something in the background that feels spectacular, from a well colored scene, to a well blended or embossed background.  Really, there are so many ways to make cool backgrounds, why don’t you simply try to impressed the Design Sweeties this week.

For my project, I pulled the image Relaxing, and printed it out onto some card stock.  Then I proceeded to color nothing of the digital image, but her skin.  I wanted the background to be the real start of the show.

Using my copics, I colored in a sunset type ombre using a variety of oranges and blue, letting the stars just peek out into the sky.  In the end, I didn’t quite end up with the sky I wanted, but I came close.

To finish the card, I stamped out some stars and added a star themed sentiment.  I also matted the project in some black cardstock and adhered everything to an A2 card frame!
