It’s Saturday, so that means it is time again for your bit of Holiday Happiness and new challenge from 52 Christmas Card ThrowDown. This week the challenge is a de-stash challenge and we are focused on Stickers!
I don’t usually use a ton of stickers, but I found in the depth of my stash these old (and I mean at least 10 years old) holiday colored alphabet stickers. You don’t usually use the ABCs and the holidays together, but I thought it might actually be kind of fun.
I started by blending red Distress Oxides onto some cards stock. I used Candied Apple, Fired Brick and Aged Mahogany to create the light ombre. Then I added the alphabet letters randomly, letting some of them drift off the page. Because they were so old, I painted a layer of soft gel medium over the whole card.
After everything was dry, I went ahead and die cut the cardstock with a Honey Bee Designs die and reassembled it onto an A2 card frame. Then I die cut a tree out in watercolor and stamped the words from a Recollections stamp/die set onto the tree with archival ink. Using both a green Tombow and a green Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen I “water” colored in the tree.
I really can’t wait to see how you play along with this de-stash challenge. Till then, happy crafting!
