There is still time to play with the current challenge up over at Kitty Bee Designs bi-weekly challenge group, Aloha Friday. This week we continue celebrating holidays by having a little bit of Christmas in July.
We are sponsored by the both A Day For Daisies and The Paper Next Dolls, both of which are offering a generous prize package for a random participant.
This week I used an image from A Day For Daisies called Raining Love Children.
For today’s card I thought it would be fun to show how to make a holiday card from an image that isn’t meant for Christmas. This digi is meant to be used for Valentine’s day, but has always been one of my favorite. Here it is from an old project I did last valentine’s day. But today, I wanted to turn the trio of girls into a Christmas project.
Using my copics, I colored up first the girls and their dresses, using a combination of holiday colors. Then I hand drew in the Christmas tree that the girls were standing around. I kept the background soft and subtle so it wouldn’t detract from the girls.
Hope you enjoyed seeing how I turned a non-Christmas card into a Christmas Card. I can’t wait to see what you come up with while we celebrate Christmas in July! Till then Happy Crafting!
