Hope, Dream, Love, Imagine, Destiny

Hey Crafty Friends! EK here sharing a card I crafted using some products available from White Rose Crafts.

I crafted a card today with a little different style than I normally use.  No markers or pencils today.  Nope, just colored with some Distress Oxides.

I pulled out the stamp set Key Expressions from Inkadinkado and stamped the five keys out in some black archival ink.  Then I stamped all the keys again and again using some gray archival ink.

Then came the distress oxides, and I blended them into the cardstock.  One of the things I like best about Oxides is that you can blend them beautifully into plain cardstock.  I have always found that normal Distress Inks need watercolor paper, but the oxides blend over anything smoothly.  (this could just be because I am not a skilled blender).  The colors I used for this card are Candied AppleFired BrickFossilized AmberSpiced Marmalade, and Wild Honey.  The whole card got a couple of sprays of water and heat set.

Then I went in with my white gel pen, and added some white highlights (and fillings) to the black keys to help them pop a little.  Then I added some black and white cording to the bottom of the card.  Finally, to give the card a little pizzaz, I added some sequins and jewels from the recently released Limited Edition Sparkle Blends in Crowned Jewels.

Hope you enjoyed this slightly different card from me.  I will tell you I have a couple of the new distress oxides winging their way to my house…which new color are you most excited about?  I think the true orange color in Carved Pumpkin might be the one I am most excited to see in the collection.
