One of the things I find hardest to do is make a fun masculine valentines day card. I know the last thing my husband wants in this world is a pink and heart filled card. He wants something a little more subdued, but yet something that still lets him know I was thinking of him.
I think today I have pulled off the delicate balance of masculine and valentine using Evaney’s Stamp Designs festive cacti stamp set Prickled.
I stamped out the cactus couple, and then created a mask for them. I added two more cacti images behind them and then pulled out my copic markers. I gave the card a quick and simple color (I am still working with a bum finger so my ability to create fine detail is seriously limited at the moment).
I die cut out the image and then die cut a matte for it out of some green cardstock. I added a bit of brown cardstock under that, and adhered everything to an A2 frame. I couple of green sequins and a bit of shabby shutter distress ink around the edges of the card finished off this design.
What do you think? Did I manage to make a masculine valentine? Please feel free to share your masculine valentines with me…I always love seeing what people come up with.
