Today is the first day of Sneak Peeks over at Craftin Desert Divas for their December Release, and I will warn you up front, I may have gone a little crazy today! But before I get to my inanity, I want to let you know that in this release, CDD is releasing 7 new stamp sets, 2 new die sets, new digital stamps, a brand new stencil, and 2 new sequin mixes!
Today I am showing off the oh so fun new stencil, Hearts Galore, as well as the new Nested Hearts Dies (plus both new sequin mixes), and like I said, I may have gone just a bit over board.
You see, I wanted to try something besides just blending some ink through the stencil, so I pulled out my gelli plate and my have sort of gone crazy. So without further ado, here are eight (yes I said eight) cards featuring the new Heart Galore stencil (and a couple with the new Nested Hearts Dies).
On my first card I pulled out the new Heart Galore stencil created a card how most of us crafters would, I blended some ink into it. In this case, I used some Distress Oxides in Candied Apple and Worn Lipstick. I then added a die cut a heart using CDD’s new Nested Heart Dies and a bit of left over blended ink card stock. I then die cut the sentiment die Sending Dies out of some textured card stock. Finally, using the candied apple distress oxide, I stamped the ‘hugs & kisses’ from CDD’s Sending Sentiments stamp set.
But like I said earlier, I wanted to see if I could create something a little more fun then just a blended background. So I pulled out my gellie plate and added some Distress Oxides in Candied Apple, Worn Lipstick, Fired Brick, and Picked Raspberry. The gelli print you see here is the first generation print I made off the gelli plate. I added to the print a die cute circle from CDD’s Stitched in Circles die set and a heart from the new Nested Hearts Die. I added another die cut ‘Sending’ from the Sending Dies, this time adding the die cut shadow behind it with some white card stock. I stamped in black Versa Fine Ink the sentiments from the Sending Sentiments stamp set. Using my white gelly roll pen, I added some dots to the words and a stitching around the edges of the gelli print. I added a bit of Glossy Accents to the ‘sending’ and a few sequins from the new Love Bug sequin mix to finish the card.
For this next card I used a second generation gelli print and then die cut it with the new Nested Hearts Dies. Added some more hearts cut in different sizes and paper and then added a Sending Dies die cut. Again I stamped in a sentiment from the Sending Sentiments stamp set. I added some detail work with a black pen and added a few sequins from the new Bubblegum sequin mix.
This fourth card I created, I using acrylic paint on my gelli plate to create this first generation gelli print. For the card I added a frame around it using CDD’s Inside Scalloped Rectangle Dies in white cardstock and a small bow from the same die set in textured cardstock. I added a die cut sentiment from CDD’s Wishing Dies and stamped the sentiment from the Sending Sentiments stamp set. I added a few details with my white gelly roll pen and added a die cut heart in two different papers from the new Nested Hearts Dies. Finally I added a few sequins from the Love Bug Sequin Mix.
After I created these four cards it occured to me that maybe you might be interested in seeing how I created these gelli prints, so I pulled out my camera and created some more gelli prints, this time in black and purple using Distress oxides in Black Soot, Wilted Violet, and Seedless Preserves

***Gelli Plate, Paper and Stencils, Oh My!!***
This card was created using the first generation gelli print. Then I added the rectangle frame from Inside Scalloped Rectangle Dies. The sentiments came from the Sending Dies and the Sending Sentiments stamp set. The card got some detail work from my white gelly roll pen and Glossy Accents.
This card was created with a second generation print from the gelli plate. I die cut it with the new Nested Hearts Dies. I added some Washi Tape to the side of the card. Using some die cuts from CDD’s Mix It Up Dies. I added the sentiment from the Wishing Dies and Sending Sentiments stamp set. I added some Glossy Accents to the ‘wishing’ and the hearts and stars and some white gelly roll pen to the ‘you were here’. Finally I added a few sequins from the Bubblegum Sequin Mix.
I was able to create a second card from the same second generation gelli print using the Nested Hearts Dies. A frame from Inside Scalloped Rectangle Dies in black card stock and a die cut sentiment because the perfect ground work for the stamped ‘love’ from the Sending Sentiments stamp set. I added just a few sequins from CDD’s Beyond the Horizon sequin mix.
My final card was created using the third generation print. I added a die cut from CDD’s Fancy Frames. I added some hearts from the Nested Hearts Dies and Wishing Dies. I added the sentiment from the Sending Sentiments and some Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew.
