Hello friends. There is a new challenge up over at Christmas Card Throwdown and I will admit, this stash challenge is a bit of a, well…challenge. The new challenge features you using items from your stash that are canvas and/or wood. If you are strictly card maker, you actually may not have canvas or wood in your stash, but if you get creative, you might just be able to figure this one out.
I on the other hand, have literally been saving this piece of sticky back canvas all year waiting for this challenge. So I pulled out my piece of sticky back canvas and stamped out in versa mark black ink a holiday sentiment.
I pulled out some Festive Berries Distress Spray and Mowed lawn Distress Spray and splattered them onto the canvas. I will admit that there was a little bit of smeared ink, but what can you say…I am working with a product I have never played with before.
I wanted to add a bit of wood texture to the card, so I pulled out a Darice embossing folder and embossed some kraft paper with this wood grain texture. I pulled out some Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide and rubbed the ink over the paper. Then using some Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Crayon I added more texture to the card. I adhered it to an A2 frame and slapped the sticky back canvas onto the embossed paper. Then using some Craftin Desert Divas dies I add the wreath, bow and greenery to the card. Finally, I added some red and gold crystals to the card to add some bling.
I am really curious and excited to see what you do with this fun stash challenge…and remember, if you don’t have wood or canvas, do you have something in the woods?…get creative and you can figure this one out!
I didn’t know you could get sticky backed canvas but I see why you’ve been saving it. Your card has a lovely party popper feel. x

Honestly I got the sticky back canvas in a random grab bag of products back in like January…10 months has been a long time to wait to play with a product
