Oh CDD fans, you are in for a treat today! I am back with a couple more sneak peaks from the October Release from Craftin Desert Divas. Are you a fan of word Dies?…well, then you are in luck because new word dies are coming to the CDD shop nearest you. In fact there are two hand lettered word die sets, plus a really fun hand lettered sentiment stamp set being released this month.
First, I want to show you the Sending Die set. I die cut out the shadow from some Here Comes Santa Claus Doodle Bug paper pack and some blue cardstock. The word was die cut from some metallic gold card stock, and the three pieces were assembled (please note die cut the shadow piece twice to get this effect).
I then pulled out CDD’s Fall Border Dies and die cut out a scene using papers from the same paper pack. Then I pulled out the new Sending Sentiments stamp set and added the hand lettered ‘happiness’ in some black ink. I probably should have put a border on the card, but I am loving the clean look and the fact this card could be used all winter long.
I did however manage to get a border on my second card today. The other new die set from this release is a hand lettered Wishing Die set.
I die cut out the shadow and covered it in versa mark ink, embossed it with Sticky Embossing Powder and added Nuvo Gilding Flakes in Silver Bullion. Then, using some Nuvo Mousse in Cornflower, I blended it onto some cardstock and this die cut out the word and assembled the two.
For the back ground, I took some Nuvo Mousse in Powder Blue and blended it into some cardstock. Then using the new Snowflakes Flurries stencil, I pressed some Moonstone Nuvo Glimmer Paste through. I pulled out the new Sending Sentiments stamp pack and added a couple of words to round out my sentiment, using embossing powder and gilding flakes on them. I added a few drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew. Finally I added a white border to the whole card with CDD’s Inside Scalloped Rectangle Dies.
