Sending Bugs and Kisses

CDD July MoodboardCan you believe it is July already?  Seriously…weren’t we just wishing each other a happy new year just last week…?  Oh well…it is in fact July, and with a new month comes a new Moodboard over at Craftin Desert Divas.

I just adore all these images of pools and swimming, so I just knew I had to pull out the cool pool from CDD’s Build a Scene 2, and stamped out the pond using some archival black ink.  I added some stones, reeds and a flower to the scene.  I pulled out one of CDD’s img_6458recently released stamp set Ladybug Garden and stamped out the little ladybug and dragon fly to the scene.  I added the bee from the stamp set Sweet as Honey.  Finally, I added the frog from the stamp set   Stormy Weather.  I know it feels silly that I pulled from a bunch of different stamp sets, but I wanted the pond to be the star, not a large focal image, so the bugs and the frog seemed like the perfect supporting actors.

I pulled out my watercolors and started coloring the scene in, trying to keep everything simple.  (Again, the pond was suppose to be the star.)  Finally, I pulled out my packet of Shimmer Sequins and glued them down in the pond water.  I really love the way the water new looks like it has movement!Ek Gorman CDD 7:6 Moodboard 1

I really can’t wait to see how this new Moodboard inspires you.  Just add your submission to CDD’s Facebook Gallery for a chance to win some awesome prizes.   Don’t forget to put #CDDMONTHLY on your social media platforms so the DT can find you inspiring designs!!
