I am back for the final day of Cupcake Inspirations 400th challenge birthday bash. It has been an amazing week, but we have just one more treat for you.
Today, on this our final day of celebration we are spotlighting one more great sponsor. Today we spotlight All Dressed Up Stamps. They are generously offering 2 digital images to one random participant this week. So make sure in this week’s final hours of play that you link up you birthday card design.
All Dressed Up was generous to give us Design Sweeties some digi images to play with for our final day of celebration. My team called upon me to make a card using both the images.
First, I used, 3 Little Summer Girls, and was inspired by challenge CIC307. This challenge was theme one, looking for the signs of spring. I am not going to lie to you…this may be my favorite card from the entire week. I really wanted to get some cherry blossoms in behind the trio, and figured colored pencils would be the easiest medium to achieve that desire. I wish I could say I colored this image in quickly, however that would be a lie… I do think the extra time totally paid off. Not only did the cherry blossom trees turned out beautifully, I feel the grass worked out quite well. I pulled out an Ellen Huston Essentials ‘happy birthday’ sentiment, and the second part of the sentiment from Darcie’s Stamps, and put them onto the image in black ink. I kind of wished I had used a brown ink, but frankly it is too late to make that change.
The second image from All Dressed Up that I used was Flower Fairy. I also decided to use colored pencils on this second image, and was inspired by challenge CIC209. I may have cheated just a little bit, since the image was already a fairy, but it has been a long week with lots of amazing card designs, so please give me this one. I knew right from the beginning that I wanted the card to be in shades of the complimentary colors blue and orange. I don’t quite like this one as much as the one above, but I am not going to lie and tell it wasn’t one of my favorites. I think this really turned out pretty special. I used some sentiments from Craftin Desert Divas, which caused the card to be weighted to heavily on the right side so I add the little flourishes from a different CDD stamp set to even out the balance.
Thank you everyone for participating in our birthday celebration. Your designs have been absolutely amazing, and it will be a real challenge to pick out my choice for the Sweet Designs of the week.
Don’t forget to tune in Sunday morning as we embark on challenge #401. Isn’t it cool that we’ve made it that far!!!!
