We are only days away from Craftin Desert Divas February Launch Event (or at least the moment when you can order all the new wonderful products). Today is the first day of the event and there will be all kinds of sneak peaks at the new products. If you haven’t RSVPed for the online Facebook Event, seriously what are you waiting for? There is still some digital stamps waiting to be given out.
I have had the privilege of playing with one of the new stamp packs, and if you are as big of a fantasy dork as I am, then you are going to want this one. Whimsical Wishs is a fantastical collection of fairies, pixies, dragons and more!
(I’ll warn you, I am a huge fan of dragons, Lord of the Rings, fairies, and so much more, so you may need to fend off my excitement about this stamp pack.)
This is the first of several (and yes there are four) cards I whipped up for the release event, so brace yourself over the next couple of days, because I’ve got plenty to share.
I knew I was going to stamp out a scene with these stamps, so I quickly stamped out onto a piece of scrap paper the scene I wanted and made the masks I needed to created the scene. I didn’t care that I couldn’t really see all the stamping here, because it was really just a blue print of what was to come. I lined my stamps up in my stamping tool and started adding images to my good white card stock. (Sorry, but somehow my next couple of shoots got lost, so you miss the masked pics…whoops.) But here is what the card looked like stamped out uncolored. Yes, in this card I used both the fairy, the pixie, and the mushroom house, along with some flowers, mushrooms and the cute little want. I also used my favorite of the sentiments in this pack. I also added a sketched line along the horizon with a copic friendly pen.
I pulled out my copics and started coloring in the image. I tried to keep this one pretty light in color. After the coloring was done, I pulled out my Fancy Framed Dies, and using the largest, I die cut the image. I backed it with a little kraft paper, but still used the the whole card, wanting some of that grass to peak out behind the kraft. I grabbed my Stardust Gelly roll pen and started adding glitter pen to the wand, the wings, they eyes of both the pixie and the fairy and small dots of fairy dust to the sky. Finally I pulled out the new “Pink Droplets” to the foreground of the card, hoping they would look like stepping stones to the house…not sure they did, but loved how the looked regardless (btw, these are really fun!!!!)
These new products become available on the 16th so, only a few more days till you can get your hot little hands on them!!!!
