Okay, I’m a day late, but you are just going to have to deal with it. I am finally getting caught up in life. With a new semester starting a few weeks ago at school, it mean that a new semester for choir began. Needless to say getting two new shows cast, two new distribution list, two new etc, I have had fewer hours than I am use to.
But I think that I finally all caught up. So a day late and probably a dollar short, here we go with my Monday mixed media post. Enjoy.
I’ll start with the past week (Days 2-9) of the #artmarks30daychallenge hosted by Rae Missigman.
Day 2-Needlework Day 3- Concentric Day 4- Just Three
Day 5- More Than One Day 6- Gridded Day 7- Dozen
Day 8- Rings Day 9 (my favorite)- Chevrons
I am continuing with my 10 minute art journal page. This week the blank
page wasn’t so blank (cause I always use extra paint/ink on blank pages). There was already a great blue gear on the page, but I did tame it down
with some white gesso. I pulled some materials that set up a small plan and set the clock. It is really amazing how fast 10 minutes goes by.
This isn’t my favorite journal entry every, but I do like how the gears and the tree trunk ended up.
Over at Journal52 we have embarked onto we have been given the world “STRANGE” as a prompt. Ironically, it wasn’t the word that inspired me, but instead the eye that the prompt image was based around. I went about making and (trying to) properly shade an eye on a background of random browns and bronzes.
I am still working on my playing cards with the Facebook group Maremi’s Creative Cafe. This week’s card is themed around Coffee. I love the texture on this card. Think I could have done more with the words, but I find it fun none the less.
Finally we have the weekly group Colour Me Positive. This week the prompt is centered around the phrase “New Beginnings are often disguised as painful endings”. I went with the notion of opening a new chapter. I love certain aspects of this page, but for the most part…it didn’t work.
The three phrases say “What appears to be the end is usually the start of a new beginning”, “be open to whatever comes next”, and “once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale.”
That’s it. Hope you can forgive me for being a day late.
