With all the great releases that have been coming out these past few day over at Craftin Desert Diva, I think that people may have forgotten that a great challenge is happening over on Facebook. The January Mood board is still up and there have been so many amazing designs entered into the challenge.
I’ve whipped up another card inspired by this months mood board. I just can’t get over all those beautiful purples and blues in this month’s board and of course those amazing winter scenes.
I decided to color in the digi stamp Snow Bunny. I pulled out my copics and really tried to pull colors from the mood board into the digital stamp. When I got done coloring her in (yes I think the bunny is a she), I fussy cut her out and set her aside.
I next pulled out some card stock and started adding distress ink with a blending tool trying to get an ombre effect. I used the colors tumbled glass, shaded lilac, dusty concord, wilted violet and seedless preserves. I then went to town with a water sprayer letting the distress ink dow what it is known for doing. I heat dried everything and glazed it to permanently set the color. I then die cut the paper using one of the mid sized Fancy Framed Dies. I grabbed some textured grey card stock and die cut it with the large Fancy Framed Die. I started to assembled the grey card stock, the distressed paper, and the digi image onto a white A2 card, but quickly realized something was missing. I trimmed a bit of the discarded distressed paper and added it to the edge of the card, and suddenly, everything seemed to pop. I assembled everything using Score Tape (this stuff is seriously the best adhesive out there and ended up using a bit of X-press Foam Tape (the price point is so much better on this dimensional adhesive than others out there).
Finally, with everything assembled, I went on the search for a sentiment…I know I kind of wanted to be a little funny with this one since that bunny looks like she is up to no good with all those snow balls. I found the perfect two sentiment stamps for this card on the Wishful Thoughts stamp pack. I really thought the “Oh No!! Shut the Front door!!” sentiment would make this the perfect winter anytime card.
We can’t wait to see how you use the mood board for January. And don’t forget to add the hashtag #CDDMONTHLY so we can find you all over social media.

Super cute card and I love the sentiment! That’s really “punny”! 😜
