Cupcake Inspirations

cic382It’s Sunday which means it is time for a new challenge over at  Cupcake Inspirations.  This week we are hosting a color challenge, featuring the colors grape, white and chartreuse.  And based on the pic, you know you just have to pull out one more monster themed design before we all are about fall leaves, turkey and the upcoming holiday season.7-kids-college-fund

This week we are sponsored by 7 Kids College Fund, who is graciously offering a $20 gift certificate to one random participant.  7-kids-gift-certificate-imge

I pulled out some stamps from Newton Nooks and stamped out a scene of critters trick or treating.  I pulled out my copic markers and colored the images in, using gray to help highlight the white portions and dark grey and black to fill in other sections.  I really like both the color combinations I found for the grape (V15, V17, and BV09) and chartreuse (YG03, YG06, YG17).

I trimmed up the focal card stock, highlighted both the top and bottom of the image with some satin black ribbon, and stamped a simple sentiment.  Feeling (correctly) the card needed a little something more, I pulled out some of the candy from the same stamp pack and stamped out the piece in the white space with black Memento Ink, Twisted Citron Distress Ink and Violet Archival Ink (I know it is a lot of different ink, but it was the best I could come up with to match the colors in the challenge).  Then  I pulled a bit of chartreuse colored textured card stock to back the focal image.  In the end I was really quite pleased with how this one came out.  I think the coloring worked here.cic382-ek-gorman

If you get a moment, seriously go take a look at the other Design Sweeties.  There work is absolutely precious.

That’s all for tonight.  I can’t wait to see what you do with this crazy cool color combination.  And for those of you who celebrate…Happy Halloween.
