Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #368

CIC368.png daisies digiIt’s Sunday, which means it is time for a new dose of sweet decadence and another challenge with Cupcake Inspirations Challenge.  This week we are featuring a color challenge, asking for those playing to whip up a design with the colors magenta, midnight and papaya (or a shade similar).  And if these colors (and cupcakes) don’t scream summer, I don’t know what does.

This week we are being sponsored by the inspiring digital design group, A Day For Daisies.  The designs here are awe inspiring and frankly, just beautiful. unspecified And this week, A Day For Daisies is offering a generous $12 gift certificate to one randomly chosen participant.

Not only did our sponsor this week donate a generous gift certificant for one random participant, but they donated an image to each of the CIC designer team to play with.  I’m just loving the little fairy, Baby Wings, I got to play with.  She was simply a joy to color in with my copic markers.  However, once I had her colored in, I found myself stuck.  My digital image was working, but I didn’t know how to turn her into a card that not only I found interesting, but that others would find inspiring as well.IMG_3674

Finally, after playing with a couple different mediums, I found if I took three shades of Tim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol Ink (wild plum, sunset orange, and stream) on some Yupo paper, I ended up with the perfect back ground for my little fairy.  To add just a touch of bling, I glued some sequins in the challenge colors onto the paper.  Then using a bit of white ink on some dark blue card stock, I stamped out a sentiment from Paper Smooches that I think perfectly summed up the digital image.

I hope you all find my design this week inspiring, and hope you take a few minutes to play along.  As always, as I sign off to go spend a little time with my family, I encourage you to find a minute for yourself and make something decadent yourself.
