Hey friends! I have found the purrrfect cat stamp set for any crazy cat lady over at White Rose Crafts. I am just loving the Pawfect– Cat stamp set from the Australian crafting company KaiserCraft. Combined with some distress spray stain and the Flow stencil from Ciao Bella Bad Girls collection I feel I came up with the purrfect cards!
Step One: Spray Distress Resist Spray onto some watercolor paper. Let dry. Spray on top three shades of distress spray stain. Here I used Antique Linen, Carved Pumpkin and Candied Apple Distress Spray Stain. Heat set.
Step Two: Create a second background. Repeat step one. Here is used Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral and Picked Raspberry Distress Stain Spray.
Step Three: Create a third background. Repeat step one. For this background I used Seedless Preserves, Victorian Velvet and Tattered Rose.
Step Four: Lay the Ciao Bella Flow stencil over the watercolor paper.
Step Five: Using a baby wipe, wipe ink off the watercolor paper through the stencil.
Here is what the watercolor paper looks like after using the baby wipe. My baby wipe was a little too wet so I did not get the clear stencil design I was hoping I would get.
Step Six: Repeat steps three and four. These background got more of the ghosted stencil look I was looking for.
Step Seven: Using the Flow stencil again, blend ink through the stencil. I used Distress Oxide in Fired Brick.
Step Eight: Repeat step seven with the other two backgrounds. I used Aged Mahogany Distress Oxide for the red card and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide for the purple.
Step Nine: Using a stamping platform and the KaiserCraft Pawfect Cat, stamp the shadow of the cat.
Step Ten: On the bottom of the paper, stamp the clowder of cats from the Pawfect Cat stamp set as well as a sentiment.
Step Eleven: Draw a black line under the shadow cat, and add a shadow using a grey Nuvo Creates pen. I used a grey pen from the Pebble Collection.
Step Twelve: Adhere the watercolor paper to an A2 card frame.
Step Thirteen: Repeat steps 9-12 with the red card. I used a different sentiment for this card but the same two cat images.
Step Fourteen: Repeat steps 9-12 with the purple card. I used love how the bold purrfect sentiment stands out on this card.
Which color combination is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below. Until then, happy crafting.
I love these cards – I’d be hard pressed to say which one I like best!
