You Color My World

Hey Friends. Feels like it has been a while since I really came in here and played with my cards. I wish I could say it was for some fun reasons….but alas not quite as fun as one would wish. I did get to go home for a week with my family to my parents. That trip at the beginning of the month was refreshing to the soul.

I have also been fighting some crafters block. Actaully I have been crafting a lot of crafters block. But today I feel I might have broken it playing around with some fo the recently released Doodle Paper Playbround Sparkle Blends. I am really loving this new mix, Subtle Rainbow, with it’s playful rainbow colors and muted tones.

What really helped break the crafting blockage is simply playing with some Distress Oxides and creating a bad blend and working it till it was almost good. I pulled Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade, Scattered Straw, Cracked Pistachio, Broken China and Victorian Velvet (finishing again with the worn lipstick).

I pulled out an old but fun ECD die, and die cut some whole into my rainbow cardstock. I saved the die cuts to put into the base of the holes.

I adhered the die cuts onto an A2 card frame making sure that it would aline with the die cuts on the main sheet. I added the Subtle Rainbow Sparkle Blend into the assembled shaker pouch and added the top sheet onto the card frame.

I pulled a sentiment from the depths of my stamp collection to add to the card frame, loving the sentiment.

Then using the new Triangle Tray and Sparkle Sticks, I added some more bling to the front of the card frame.

I love how this one came out. It doesn’t feel forced but instead special in its own way.

And I really love how the Subtle Rainbow Sparkle Blend looks bouncing off the distress. I think it turned out really fun. Let me know what you think in the comments below. Do the two different rainbows work together? Until then, happy crafting.
