Canvas and Glitter

I hope you are as excited about spring as I am. I am aware it has been a really long hard weird winter for so many, so the budding flowers of spring appear to be a sign of relief for many. Today the design team over at Elizabeth Craft Designs is helping roll out spring with some crafting projects. I have a little Easter canvas dripping in Silk Microfine Glitter to help celebrate.

Step One: Add paint to a 6×6 inch canvas flat board. I used Distress paint in Shaded Lilac, Spun Sugar, and Squeezed Lemonade.

Step Two: Using a brayer, blend the paint over the board, feathering the edges.

Step Three: Spray the board with a shimmer spray and splatter with white ink. I used Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray in Frost and Dylusions Ink Spray in White Linen. Let dry.

Step Four: Die cut the easter basket using ECD’s Spring Basket out of some 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock. Color the basket with alcohol ink. I used copics. The first layer was in E11.

Layer two had E17.

Layer three I used E13.

Blend out the whole basket with E11.

Step Five: Die cut the grasses, eggs, and bow from the Spring Basket from some Clear Double Sided Adhesive sheets. Keep die cutting the grasses and eggs till you have enough for the project.

Step Six: Using liquid adhesive, adhere the basket to the dried canvas (leave a lip unglued at the top of the basket).

Step Seven: Adhere one type of grasses to the basket.

Step Eight: Peel off the grasses paper and add Leaf Green Silk Microfine Glitter.

Step Nine: Brush off excess glitter and rub the left over into the adhesive. Repeat with the second type of grass and add Sea Glass Silk Microfine Glitter.

Step Ten: Add Lavender Ice Silk Microfine Glitter to the bow pieces. Assemble the bow (I had to in the end add the bow double side adhesive pieces to 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock and re die cut the paper with the bow dies).

Step Eleven: Add the eggs one at a time, adding glitter and roving excess between each egg. I used Copper Rose Silk Microfine Glitter and Rich Red, Ice Teal, and Vintage Teal from the Earth Glitter Palette.

Step Twelve: Die cut a sentiment from the Words 3 Happy Holidays from Clear Double Sided Adhesive sheets. Adhere to the canvas.

Step Thirteen: Add Bright Cranberry Silk Microfine Glitter to the sentiment.

I hope this spring brings you hope. Let me know in the comments below what you hope for most this spring. And make sure you pop over to the ECD blog to check out all the spring project. Until then, happy crafting.
