Born With Wings

Hey everyone! I am popping in today with a card that is a little bit of a valentine card and a little bit of an encouragement card. What ever it is, I really love how it came out using some of the older Elizabeth Craft Designs dies and stamps.

Step One: Trim a piece of 90lb Soft Finish cardstock to 4.25×5.5 inches. Blend some Tattered Rose Distress oxide over the edges and some Worn Lipstick in the corners.

Step Two: Add Shimmer Spray to the card to add a bit of bling.

Step Three: Using the Soar Collection stamp set, stamp a sentiment onto the upper corner.

Step Four: On a second sheet of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock blend a group of gray inks in a circular motion. I used Pumice Stone, Hickory Smoke, and Black Soot Distress Oxide.

Step Five: Then using the Free as a Bird die set, die cut the cage and the birds.

Step Six: Using a heart die, die cut a series of hearts out. I used the heart die from the Summer Drink die set.

Step Seven: Using a red pigment ink highlight both the birds and the hearts.

Step Eight: Adhere the hearts into the cage using a liquid. I used Kids Choice Glue.

Step Nine: Adhere the cage and birds to the background.

Step Ten: Finally add the background to an A2 Card frame using some 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive. I also added black ink around the edges of the card and highlighted the cage with white gel pen.

Let me know in the comments below if you play around with your older die and stamp sets or do you just keep reaching for the new. Until then, Happy Crafting.
