Have you scene that White Rose Crafts has a monthly moodboard challenge?  This month’s moodboard centers around new life, blue skies and floral buds emerging, with the focal colors being Royal Blue, Spring Green, Sunshine Yellow and White (the White Rose Crafts colors!).

Today I created a little bit of mixed media craft art to play along with the challenge!

I am a little bit in love with the different textures of my project today, and all the layers that come together to create this spring picture.

Step One:  Blend half of a Creative Embellishment Mini Album -Rectangle page with Distress Oxide in Blueprint Sketch.

Step Two:  Using an adhesive(I used soft gel medium), add Simply Creative Decoupage Paper Hares to the chipboard.   I did not fill the whole space with adhesive, but only different sections.  Let dry.

Step Three:  Tear away the extra Decoupage Paper.  Add some Distress Oxide Twisted Citron to the bottom corner of the chipboard.

Step Four:  Trim a piece of Mulberry paper in Ivory.  Using a wet paint brush, drag a wet line across the Mulberry paper and pull it apart.  Adhere the Mulberry paper to the edges of the chipboard project.

Step Five:  Using Distress Oxide in Mowed Lawn blend ink through the Kaisercraft Stencil Parasol.

Step Six:  Stamp the Crafter’s Companion Be the Sunshine sentiment stamp onto a trimmed piece of Craft Creations Iridescent Shimmer Paper in Gold.  Add some Double Scalloped White Lace to the top and bottom of the Iridescent Paper.  Adhere the sentiment to the chipboard.

Step Seven:  Add butterfly embellishments to the shipboard.  I pulled these butterflies from an old WRC cardmaking kit.
