Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

So in our house Roald Dahl is a legend.  He got my struggling reader into a life long reader with his books.  So needless to say when I discovered a Roald Dahl crafting supplies from DoCrafts, I was absolutely ecstatic.  I was even more excited to see that White Rose Crafts carries a ton of these supplies.

I just unboxed a huge selection of these collection, so if you want to get a good look at what this collection look like, feel free to check out the last half of this video.

Now for today, I have a really simple project showing off what I think this collection can do…however, stay tuned because I have a really big project planned for the future.  I just need a little more time than I have now.

EK Gorman, White Rose Crafts, Docrafts aTo create this card, I pulled several different pieces that I think blended perfectly together.

I started with the Fantabulous Storybook stamp set, stamped onto some good quality cardstock.  I then stamped inside the storybook an image and a sentiment from the Charlie and The Chocolate Factory stamp set.  I then colored in the images with my copic markers, trying to keep the coloring simple, but yet playing with color.

For the background, I pulled a piece of paper from the Phizz-Whizzing paper pack.  I distressed up the edges of this blue paper with a little Broken China Distress Oxide.  The bottom of the background was created using a strip of ticket paper from the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Decoupage paper pack.  I also popped out the purple Charlie Banner and used some three dimensional squares to raise it.

EK Gorman, White Rose Crafts, Docrafts cTo adhere the book to the card frame, I used some double sided adhesive in the middle of the book, and then used three dimensional tape on the edges of the book to pop it up.

I am so excited to play with this collection and I hope you are too.  Let me know in the comments below what Roald Dahl book is your favorite (ours is The Witches).  Until then, Happy Crafting.
