There is a new theme challenge up over at Cupcake Inspiration Challenge.  This week we are seeing plaid, with our plaid challenge.

Our sponsor this week, Newton Nooks, has some really cool plaid stencils, and I am fully taking advantage of them this week.

I pulled out the Argyle Stencil Set, and blended a bunch of Distress Oxides into the it to create this fun print.  I used Twisted Citron, for the base layer, then I used Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber and Wild Honey for the yellow tones.  I finished the card off with some Mowed Lawn and additionally distressed the edges with this color.

I then stamped an image from the Naughty Newton stamp set on both some white cardstock and also on the distressed piece of cardstock so I would have the cat scratches on the ink.  I colored the focal image with my colored pencils and fussy cut out the image and adhered it over the image on the card.
