So it has been either raining, or snowing outside my window for what feels like forever. But regardless of the weather, I am forced to go out into the yucky elements and cold daily, either to walk my children to school or to train for an up coming trail race. And all this rain and snow and getting wet and cold has sort of put me into a funk.
So today I thought I would try something completely new for me and see if I could shake off my bad weather funk. I have had some Elizabeth Craft Designs Peel off stickers just laying around my studio for sometime now, almost afraid to use them. But today was the day to pull them out and play with them.
I started by creating my background, pulling out the ECD Earth & Sky stencil and my distress oxides. Using a variety of blues and grays, I created a rainy/snow cloud sky (I used Weathered Wood, Tumbled Glass and Pumice Stone, plus a little Black Soot).
I also created a distant mountain range using some Shaded Lilac and the Mountain & Split Rail Fence stencil.
Going back to the Earth and Sky stencil, I created some grass using Crushed Olive and Bundled Sage Distress Oxide.
I just love how the background came out. I trimmed the cardstock down so that it would measure 4×5.25 inches, allowing my A2 card frame to matte the image.
Using the Foxy Peel off stickers in gold, I added the fox the foreground of my card.
Then using my copics, I colored in the fox.
I added a metallic boarder using the Corners and Borders Straight Peel off Stickers in Silver.
To help tone down some of the green ink that seeped through my copic coloring, I pulled out my gel pen and added some white ‘fur’. I added a sentiment using the Little Words Mean a Lot sentiment stamp set in some blue ink. I added the whole project to an A2 card frame and called it a day.
I hope my card today helped pop you out of any funk you might be feeling.
