A Masculine Valentine

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs Valentine aI created a masculine Valentine for my husband this year using the new Butterflies & Stars Spray die set.  I frankly, love my husband and always want to hand craft my cards for him, but I am also aware that the man doesn’t appreciate cute and girly as much as I do.  I always find it a little difficult to craft for him, but the man does love space, so I figured a space themed card might just do the trick.  The new Butterflies & Stars Spray is perfect for the space theme love card I envisioned.

Step One:  Trim a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock to 6×6 inches.  Time a piece of Bonnie Blue Soft Finish Cardstock to 12×6 inches, and score and fold at 6 inches to create a 6×6 card.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs Valentine dStep Two:  Using some Distress Inks, blend color into the white cardstock to create a space theme sky.  I used Dusty Concord, Wilted Violet, Seedless Perserves, Victorian Velvet, Shaded Lilac and Black Soot.  I also sprayed water onto the ink to create the blotchy sky look.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs Valentine eStep Three:  Die cut the star spray in the center of the distressed cardstock.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs Valentine fStep Four:  Using 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive, adhere the cardstock to the card frame, letting the dark blue peek through the die cuts.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs Valentine bStep Five:  Finally, using the Love Sentiments stamp set, add the sentiment to the card.  I used Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide to stamp the sentiment and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide to stamp the heart.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs Valentine cI think this card can be used for more than just Valentine’s Day.  I think the design works for anniversaries, birthdays, or a just because card for then men in your life.

Thank for peeking in today for this tutorial.  Until next time, happy crafting.
