It is time for a new card challenge over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. This week we are having a Technique Challenge where we are focusing on heat embossing.
I pulled out a large wreath stamp from Simon Says Stamps and stamped it with VersaMark ink onto some watercolor paper.
Then, using some antique gold embossing powder, I heat embossed the images. I pulled out my dusty Tombows and gently colored in the images. I die cut out the outer and in ring of the wreath and set it aside.
For fun, I dry embossed a bit of red cardstock and adhered the wreath to the card with some 3 dimensional tape. I couldn’t find any gold paper to match my wreath, so I just heat embossed the same antique gold embossing powder onto some cardstock and added it to the side of the A2 card.
Finally, I heat embossed a sentiment onto some cardstock and adhered it to the card frame. I also added a simple bow, because the wreath needed just a little something more.
I can’t wait to see how you play with this week’s challenge. Until then, Happy Crafting.
That’s such a pretty card, I love how you created the wreath and the wee bow just finishes it off perfectly. 😊
