Butterfly

Hey friends!  Ever since the new release of the holiday dies and stamps from Joset over at Elizabeth Craft Designs, I’ve been making all kinds of Christmas Cards.  However, the truth is that I am not ready for the summer to leave us.  I am still enjoying the long days and the kids home and that freedom of spirit summer gives us.  But as much as I don’t want to let summer go, school starts next week, and with that responsibilities.  EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs aSo in order to hold on to the last rays of summer I created a bit of what feels like summer to me using some butterflies.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs dStep One:  Cut a piece of Silver Gray Soft Finish Cardstock to 12×6 inches and score and fold it to create a 6×6 card frame.  Then trim a piece of floral printed Butterfly Dream paper to 6×6 inches.  Adhere to the card frame with 10mm clear double sided adhesive.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs eStep Two:  Die cut the Romantic Bouquet out of 85lb White Soft Finish Cardstock.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs fStep Three:  Adhere the die cut to the floral paper using 3mm clear double sided adhesive.

Step Four:  Using a black pen, outline the die cuts to help make the images stand out.  Add a dash mark pattern along the bottom of the card and the sides.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs gStep 5:  Stamp the three butterflies from the Bugs and Butterflies stamp set onto some 85lb White Soft Finish Cardstock.  I decided to go with a no line coloring technique so I stamped the images with pale ink and colored them with my colored pencils.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs hStep 6:  Using some 3 dimensional tape, adhere the butterflies to the card.

Step 7:  Stamp out the sentiment from the Plant, Grown & Bloom stamp set onto some 85lb White Soft Finish Cardstock.    Trim up the cardstock, and snip a flag into the edge of the paper.  Adhere to the card using 10mm clear double sided adhesive.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs bI personally love how the butterflies almost blend into the background, just like real ones.

EK Gorman, Elizabeth Craft Designs cThanks for peeking in today to see my summer inspired project.  I hope your final days of summer are peaceful and filled with bliss.
