There is a new sketch challenge up over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. If you like circles then you will certainly enjoy this one. I might have found it a little difficult. I am not strong at layering, and this seemed like the kind of sketch that really needed layers.
I pulled out a piece of printed Christmas cardstock and die cut a bunch of circles out, trying to somewhat match the sketch. Then I snagged a piece of textured cardstock, and heat embossed some whited embossing powders over a few snowflakes and a Santa image from an Ink Roads stamp set. I added a sentiment onto the top of the card from the same stamp set.
Using my colored pencils I added some depth and highlights to the card. I then added some red sequins from a now retired pack of Sparkle Blend sequin mix.
This may not be the most creative use of the sketch, but there is a since of whimsy and fun in the card, so I’ll keep it. I can’t wait to see what you come up with. Till then happy crafting!
trop sympa! ce père noël est si cool, biz

Great card EK! My “second” card, that I didn’t get round to, would have had cut out circles, I think it works so well, especially with the texture behind. I love the quirkiness of this.
