July theme

There is a new theme challenge up over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.  This week the theme is to create a Non-Traditional Christmas Card.  At first I sort of found this to be a rather difficult theme to wrap my mind around, until I saw this older stamp set from Penny Black Stamps.  As soon as I saw the penguins, I knew exactly how to play with the non-traditional theme with a little group of rainbow penguins.

EK Gorman, 52CCT aI stamped the image out onto black cardstock with white pigment ink, and then colored the penguins in with my colored pencils.

EK Gorman, 52CCT bI know that I struggled in the beginning with this theme, but I sort of loved how this card came out in the end!  I just love how the colored pencil pops out of the black.
