Hey Friends. Lately, I have been in a touch of a creating rut, so to help me shift out of it, I have been heading back to basics. Long before I played with alcohol markers, I used watercolor markers. And while the quality of the product I have used has improved over the years, I still find some great joy playing with these watercolor pens. However, strangely, I don’t use them as much as I should in my card making. So today, to help beat the rut of crafting, I created a fun card using three different brands of watercolor markers and a Scrapberry Basik stamp set called Basik’s New Adventure available at White Rose Crafts.
I stamped out the image and sentiment from the Basik’s New Adventure stamp set in some waterproof black ink. Then I colored in the image with my Kuretake Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens.
I created the clouds free hand and then created the granulated feel with my tomboy markers.
Finally, I created the grass using some Tim Holtz Distress Markers.
What do you do when you find yourself in a rut? Do you have a go to technique or product you like to play with? Let me know in the comments below, mainly so I don’t feel alone as I work my way through this rut.
And Finally make sure you run over to White Rose Crafts and check out all the new stuff they have going on over there.
Beautiful!
