Hey friends. I have been feeling like I’ve been in a rut lately…so to help get out of it, I have been going back to the basics. The little art activities that I did in the beginning that made me fall in love with card making. So today, I pulled out some alcohol inks and just messed around with color. I have always been a lover of color, and just some time with just a little yupo paper and alcohol ink helped lift my spirits. The little art project came out so nicely, I just had to turn it into a card.
Step 1- Trim up a piece of Dove Grey Soft Finish Cardstock to 6×12. Scor it by half and fold to make the card frame.
Step 2- Trim up some lavender paper from the Thinking About Polinesia paper pack trimmed to 6×6.
Step 3- Die cut the dried alcohol yupo paper with the Dashing Rectangles die set in both a large and small die.
Step 4- Adhere the lavender paper to the card frame using 6mm Double Sided Adhesive. Adhere the yupo paper to the card, leaving a small gap in the small opening.
Step 5- Stamp out an owl from Give a Hoot stamp set using copic friendly ink. I used Memento Tuxedo Black.
Step 6- Color the image in with alcohol markers. I used copics.
Step 7- Fussy cut out the image.
Step 8- Adhere the owl into the opening, tucking the bottom in slightly to the opening.
Step 9- Add the sentiment. I used three stamps from the Love Sentiments stamp set. I also added a bunch of hearts to the card from the set.
Step 10- Add owls to the yupo paper using black Stazon Ink.
Thanks for sneaking in today and checking out my my old school basic play.
