There is still time to play with the current color challenge over at Christmas Card Throwdown! The colors we are playing with for this challenge are brown, green, and kraft!
If you remember, last week I was really struggling with this color combination. I just couldn’t get it to work for me. So today, I was determined to create a card I could be proud of. And then I realized…christmas trees are brown and green…surely I could do something with that!
So, I went back to my card making roots and pulled out my copic markers and started playing with hand drawn pine trees in a forest on a cold winters night. I figures grey was a neutral so that was the color I added to the sky. Then using my white gelly pen, I added the snow everywhere.
I stamped out the perfect sentiment from Hero Arts and added some highlights with my gel pen.
I wish I had been brave enough to leave the card just as my art, but I’m just not that courageous. So I pulled out this sweet little reindeer from Mama Elephant and give it a quick color with my copics after stamping it on some craft paper. I trimmed down the image and added a kraft matte, and called the whole thing done!
I honestly can’t wait to see what you come up with using this (unique) color scheme!
