This month, the Moodboard is really quite fun with all kinds of great summer colors, letting the rainbow of colors being at your disposal.
For me, the cake photo in the left center is really a picture of inspiration for me. I just love how the color sort of ombres up the cake. I knew that I just had to used the colors in that cake.
I pulled out CDD’s Weather Gnomes, and stamped out one of the images and a sentiment. I added a mask to the Gnome image so I could blend distress inks onto it.
I pulled out some Twisted Citron, and blended it onto the bottom of the card. Then I added a strip of masking tape so I could have a really nice clean line, and added some white space like the cake has. I added some Squeezed Lemonade and blended it down into the Twisted Citron.
I repositioned the masking tape and then blended some Spiced Marmalade onto the card. I followed with some Dried Marigold and some Scattered Straw.
Starting at the top of the card, I blended some Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar, and Worn Lipstick down into the orange colors.
Pulling away, all the masking tape, I ended up with a background that looked pretty close to the cake that inspired me. I pulled out my copic markers and colored in the image from Weather Gnomes. I tried to pull colors from the Moodboard so that all the colors in the card blend into the ones in the Moodboard. I also pulled out my White Gelly Roll Pen and added little details to the Gnomes hair, and some to the unicorn.
I pulled out the largest CDD Crazy Stitched Frame Dies and die cut the image (luckily loosing all the harsh blending lines on the edges. I pulled out the two little stars from the stamp pack as well as the little moon and stamped them all over the ‘sky’. I also did a few second generation stamping as the stars and moons got closer to the gnome. I added the card to an A2 card frame, and pulled out some clear wink of stella, and added it to the stars, moons, and some little droplets through out the sky.
