Friday Night Coloring

I would have a fancy fun title for this post, but I just realized that the three cards I spent the evening coloring don’t have any sentiments.  So you are just going to have to enjoy the coloring…sorry.  No snarky sentiments tonight.

However, there is some pretty coloring.  Two copic marker pieces and a colored pencil.  Sadly this was all done while binge watching Westworld with my husband.  We have just started watching it, so this is our sad existence, watching a television show everyone else has already seen.  (Up next btw is Game of Thrones…we own the first two seasons, but we have finally decided to see 3-6.)   If anyone has wondered, adult ADHD is real, and there are people like me who are completely incapable of sitting down and just watching tele.  No, I am constantly having to find something to do so I can also watch television and enjoy it.  Usually, I draw or sketch, but tonight I colored.  Anyway…the challenge cards…

July ColorUp first is a color challenge from Bugaboo’s  weekly challenge Catch the Bug.  I’m kind of loving these summer colors.

I pulled out a very non summer image, mainly because it has been raining here all day.  Bugaboo’s Margret in the rain digital stamp fit my ‘why won’t it stop raining (on the flash flood emergency alert EK Gorman CTBugstop going off) mood.  So I printed the digi and colored her in.

I’ve had a kind of interesting week in which I have had negative comments come my way that state I a) take to many risks, and b) don’t take enough risks.  It has needless to say been interesting.  So, I am not going to listen to the negatives and keep doing my thing, learning, and having fun, and creating things I like regardless of what others think.

For Margret I pulled out my copic markes and colored her in focusing in on the orange, lime, and teal, with a touch of navy, and pale blue.  The Colors were as follows:

Umbrella: Y17, YR02, YR07
Coat: YG00, YG23, YG06
Dark Blue: B34, B37, B39
Teal: BG05, BG07, BG09
Pale Blue: B10, B00, B12

I added a few pieces of paper to pop the challenge colors and called the card done.

color throw down imageI went ahead and played with another color challenge (since it was a coloring night) and pulled up the current challenge over at Color Throwdown.  The colors for this week are raspberry pink, yellow and green.

EK Gorman CTD 453I pulled out a Connie Fong image and colored her up, playing with these colors.  The colors I used were as follows:

Pink: RV14, RV17, RV29
Yellow: Y00, Y13, Y17
Green:  YG23, YG06, YG09
Skin Tone: E50, BV00, E21
Hair: E41, Y21 E44

I trimmed the image up and added a bit of pink textured card stock under it to help pop the flowers.  I played with things being off set, and kind of love how it played out.

EK Gorman K&CFinally, tonight, I don’t have a challenge perse, just a coloring exercise from Kit and Clowder.  They had a free digi from Sweet Escape Digis that they challenge you to color up.  I have been trying to expand my coloring pencil knowledge, so I tested up my skills without instructions.  Kind of like the hair color combo I played with, but I totally messed up her nose.

Anyway, that’s it for tonight.  I am trying to get back into my challenge cards. Hope you enjoyed these.
