It’s Sunday so that means it is time for a new challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge. This week the challenge is a color challenge and looking for the colors red, cream, and dark brown.
This week we are sponsored by STAMPlorations who is generously offering a $15 gift certificate to one random participant.
For me, the inspiration photo was the thing that inspired me most of all this week, and I just knew I had to have some cupcakes on my card. So in an act of …(insanity?)… I ventured away from my normal style and pulled out my die cutting machine. Using the STAMPlorations die Cupcake Builder 2, I die cut lots of red, cream and brown paper to build the sweet little cupcake. I assembled all the papers and then using a light grey Marvy marker and a dark grey Tombow marker I created some highlights and shadows on the papers, trying to create just a bit more dimension. Finally, I heat embossed an Ellen Hutson Essentials sentiment onto the card with some white embossing powder.
I seriously recommend that you venture over to the other Design Sweeties and check out their amazing work. You will not regret it!
I loved the inspiration photo too! That huge dollop of icing with a cherry on top is right up my alley! Great take on the sketch EK!
