Happiest Holiday!

Honey Bee Stamps imageHappy Forth of July to all you folks residing in the U.S.A…and well, happy Tuesday everyone else!  I would say happy summer, but as my husband reminded me, there are folks in this world that are currently experiencing not so summer like weather.  So happy Tuesday to all you folks not celebrating an official holiday today.

Since the entire population of crafters isn’t celebrating the same holiday today, but I wanted to give a nod to those who might be celebrating along with me a particular holiday, I decided to whip up a sort of generic (patriotic) holiday card.

EK Gorman HBS 7:4

I pulled out the Honey Bee Stamps‘ Busy Bees stamp set and started stamping out the flowers (using masking where needed), stems, leaves and bees.  I then pulled out the Happiness sentiment stamp set, and added the generic holiday sentiment.

I pulled out my copics and started coloring up the little scene, using the blend of patriotic US colors for the flowers  I wanted the greens to be really muted so I pulled a different blend of greens out then I normally would.

Blue Flower: B21, B23, B26
Red Flower: R35, R29, R89
White Flower: Colorless Blender, N0, N2
Leaves and Grass: YG91, YG95, YG97
Bees: Y21, Y23, C5, C7, C9
Blue Background: BG10, BG00, Colorless Blender

I die cut out the simple little scene with the largest die in the A2 Double Stitched Frames as well as die cut a piece of textured red card stock.  I assembled the whole thing using my (hands down) favorite double stick tape, 1/8″ wide Scor-Tape.

I hope everyone has the best day possible, and for those of you who may be around fireworks tonight, stay safe, and enjoy the light show.
