Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #409

CIC409It’s Sunday, so that means it is time for another challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations.  There is a color challenge this week featuring the colors, blush, powder and lemon.  And of course from the inspiration photo…there is all kinds of Seuss inspired images.

I decided to keep it simple this week, heat setting with clear embossing powder a Heidi Swap sentiment and a couple of Ellen Hutson’s balloons.

I pulled out my distress inks for this card, using a little scattered straw and mustard seed for the lemon color.  The blush tones were blended with spun sugar and worn lipstick.  Finally the powder blue colors were done with tumbled glass and salty ocean.  The balloons got masked so that they could stay white.  To really set off the design I added five iridescent sequins.  I trimmed the card stock down and added it to an A2 frame.  Of course a couple of splashes of water was given to the card, because well, that’s what you do with distress.

I can’t wait to see what you do with this week’s color challenge.  Till then, happy crafting.

  1. I love the names of the those Distress Inks! Of course you have to flick water on those distress ink backgrounds! What a beautiful pastel background you created EK, and I like that you left the balloons white. The sequins are a nice touch!
